Deconstructing Racial Stereotypes

This course explores racial stereotypes that white people hold for Black/African American people and reviews the origins behind the creation of stereotypes. Course takes participants into a deeper look at whiteness. Questions: What purpose do our stereotypes serve? How does the media shape our perceptions of Black Americans? Course is heavily structured around small group discussions, exploring bias and uncovering the root of our thinking and intuitions surrounding racial stereotypes.
